Not cryingPublished: November 29, 2012
I am a citizen, a four-year veteran, an Eagle Scout, attend Mass every week and practice His love to my fellow man during the week. In the letter to the editor, "They'll Be Crying," Richard J. Bruno, reacting to the re-election of President Barack Obama, wrote, "Those who live by a hand that feeds them will be the first to go hungry."
After very clear showings in the last two elections, it has been said by the voters of our great nation.
Now be a true American and not a whiner. Be respectful to and supportive of President Obama. God bless him.

Lot to learn
In response to the letters to the editor from Janet Paus, "Too Far Left," the election was not won by President Barack Obama by fraud. It was lost by the GOP on the issues.
The Republicans lost because they did not realize that their party had declared war on women. Remember "legal rape" and rape pregnancies being a "gift from God"?
Mitt Romney made a solemn vow to eliminate Planned Parenthood, which so many women depend on for health care and guidance on women's issues. Abortion is the least of those services.
Automatically putting the word illegal in front of the word alien and treating everyone from Hispanic countries like criminals lost the election.
No global warming? You must be kidding. All intelligent experts worldwide agree on the global warming issue. There is a difference as to the degree, but 99 percent say it exists.
Until Republicans are willing to open their eyes and see how wrong and misinformed they have been, they will have a hard time winning on the national level and in many cases on the state level. It appears they still have a lot to learn.

Vets deserve it
I suggest that we think of our combat veterans from all our wars by giving them cards so they can buy PX goods. After all, these veterans served and defended our country. As a World War II combat veteran, I would sure enjoy this benefit.
