Great employees

I would like to congratulate the Pasco Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley and his terrific staff for doing a great job with the election. The Pasco results were completed by 11 p.m. Nov. 6. The lines at the polls were not bad at all. I am not sure if any voters in the county waited more than an hour to cast their ballot.

I filed to run for the Pasco County Mosquito Control District board back in March. Corley's staff was always available to help answer questions. I was always treated with respect from his staff and although I did not win my race, I found the experience to be great.

Corley's staff is the most pleasant government staff I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. We are lucky to have such public employees here in Pasco.

Elevated threat

Regarding the possibility of an elevated roadway being built down the State Road 54-56 corridor in Pasco County, that's all what we need, a monstrosity looming over our scenic rural roads.

Privately funded for profit, in part, but using up diminishing Pasco revenues, it would operate in the red for years to come. Our governor rejects the federally funded high-speed rail project, and now Pasco County is considering a gigantic white elephant that would pollute our relatively clean air. Yeah, global warming is not real, and the election results don't mean anything — at least not in Pasco.

We should build the Ridge Road extension instead and widen state roads 52 and 50 all the way to I-75, perhaps I-95. That would alleviate traffic on S.R. 54.

They'll be crying

Marty Moore's Nov. 14 column proves once again he belongs to the party of intolerance and ignorance. He has a great time name-calling tea party members, conservatives and especially Republicans. Marty said in his previous column it is time to come to fiscal responsibility and raise taxes on the rich. Now he just mauls everything conservative.

I hope this election gives you all you think you want and more. Here is a fact: Those who live by a hand that feeds them will be the first to go hungry.

The media created the war on women when the real fight is about life. Marty and his kind are the ones who cry fire in a theater because they believe they have the right to do so. They will be the ones crying when this president is done.
