Mitt's bad mathPublished: November 1, 2012
During the debates, Romney promised revenue neutrality for the rich and tax reductions for the middle class, leaving less revenue for government. He didn't deny wanting to increase spending on defense by $2 trillion and he wants to reduce the deficit.
Because Medicare, Social Security, and defense are the biggest budget items, the only way he can do the things he says he will do is with massive cuts to Medicare and Social Security. Otherwise, it doesn't add up.
Romney faults Obama for taking too long to improve the economy. But Romney would inherit a much, much better economic situation. Given that, he can't say Obama is taking too long.

Desperate figments
Rich Lowry, in his op-ed page column "Obama's Big Bird-Brained Attack," launched his own bird-brained attack on our president. His verbose diatribe started sputtering almost immediately, as he added more and more to his already over-the-top complaint.
Comparing President Obama to Joseph McCarthy displayed Lowry's desperate attempt to come up with more figments of his overactive imagination. The ludicrous method he employed to roast our president wasn't even laughable. The guy needs to go back to Journalism 101 and relearn how to write.
Most of his remarks were nonsensical and preposterous. We live in a country, thank goodness, where we can differ with our politicians. I'm afraid, however, Lowry wasted his column in a frivolous attempt.

Back whoever wins
After the election, please join me in supporting the president, regardless of who wins and his race, religion or party affiliation, because that is democracy. We can help our country move forward if we support the president, even one we didn't vote for. Let us be proud Americans.
If you do not want to support the president, at least do not degrade our presidents, past and future. Try not to undermine the president's efforts by saving you hope he fails. If the president fails, we the people fail.
If you're not happy, you can vote again in four years.
