Gloat nowPublished: December 15, 2012
Well, from enjoying Kristen Lawver's Dec. 8 letter to the editor celebrating President Barack Obama's re-election, it is obvious that she is quite the mature, intelligent young lady. She and her clueless minions have certainly earned the right to gloat.
I am not a Republican, but I am a "geezer." So I may not be around to enjoy the new socialist Utopia that Lawver and her BFFs have worked and hoped so hard for.
I feel sorry for my son and my granddaughter. I can't help but wonder if Ms. Lawver will still be laughing when she grows up.

Blessed service
We are grateful beyond words for the work that Ray's Cabinet Shop did for us. They did excellent work, taking all the worry off our hands.
We are so pleased and just want everyone to know how hard they worked and how professional the outcome, but also how kind and helpful they were to us personally. They went above and beyond what they had to do for us. You just don't see that anymore.
Thanks Dave and son. We appreciate you and pray God's blessings upon you and yours.

Only the facts please
It never ceases to amaze me the lengths to which people will go to proffer a viewpoint, no matter how fictitious and fantastic.
Not once during a recent letter to the editor did the writer offer any proof of her asinine allegations. The President wants to destroy the Constitution and the Bill of Rights? How?
What shred of evidence could she possibly offer for such an outrageous claim? It would appear that she, like many in the Republican bubble, is unencumbered by facts. After all, if it's on the Internet then it must be true, right? Sorry, facts matter.
Internet kill switch? Really? How Orwellian and how ridiculous. What all the secession nonsense is really about is a bunch of disgruntled pseudo-patriots who are doing the equivalent of throwing a temper tantrum until they get their way.
I seem to remember a war being fought to settle this matter. The bottom line is they simply can't accept the reality that their guy lost.
If they want to leave, fine. But they can't have Texas, though they may feel free to take all the Texans they want. I would suggest moving to a place similar to Texas in spirit. I recommend someplace that doesn't have such burdensome government oversight, where guns are plentiful and individuality and the entrepreneurial spirit are encouraged, like hijacking ships. I hear Somalia is nice this time of year.
