Your choicePublished: August 16, 2012
In response to those of you who want socialism, there is one question that you need to answer: Where has it worked without a dictator leading the way and the masses made into peons?
Socialism has led to a bigger disparity between haves and have-nots with no hope of have-nots changing their standing. Reason for this is very simple: Mankind is inherently evil to one another when given power to dictate anything to anyone.
Recent attempts at dictating what you can eat or drink in certain states and cities is comical on the surface, but the undercurrent is not. Big brother is not always gentle or kind.
Do we leave a legacy of the freedom we have grown to enjoy, making this the destination of the world's oppressed, or something less? Even the Beatles said "If you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you won't make it with anyone anyhow." Well, that used to be true.
The choice is yours, for the time being anyway. Make it a good one.
Here is an easy start, open primaries instead of party fests. Let all citizens have a voice, not just party members like the Soviets did.

Lefty propaganda
Marty Moore's op-ed page column on guns was so full of ridiculous logic and left-wing flower child propaganda it was hard to keep down my breakfast.
The Aurora, Colo., shootings were a heinous crime committed by someone who had no more respect for human life than a drunken driver who kills an entire family with his car. Marty mistakenly believes changing the type of weapon will eliminate or cut down the possibility of these things happening. Perhaps if all drunk drivers drove Smart Cars they would kill fewer people.
Marty and people like him are always of a mind it is someone else's fault when tragedy strikes and not the person creating the tragedy. Now it is gun owners and the types of guns they wish to own. Perhaps we should ban graphite shaft golf clubs because we can swing those much faster and boy is that going to hurt.
Maybe if all the farmers, bookkeepers, blacksmiths, shopkeepers and preachers had not had guns we would have a queen today.
The real threat is not the government but ideologies like Marty's.
