Animal Services Vans Get Rolling Billboards

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Pasco County Animal Services vans now carry colorful "wraparound" rolling billboards to remind people to spay and neuter pets or to adopt a new, furry friend.

Commissioner Michael Cox invited people to view the vans, which are decorated with giant photos of cats and dogs. Animal Services put the first two vans on display Tuesday outside the West Pasco Government Center.

"Adopt a Pet, Take Home a Friend," the slogan on one van declares.

"Too Many Strays, Not Enough Homes; Solution: Spay/Neuter," another message reads.

The booster group Friends of Animal Services helped raise $4,500 toward painting the vans, Cox explained. Half of the money came from a matching grant from the Pennsylvania-based Alice Everard Charitable Trust Foundation.

Two vans now sport the painted graphics, and a third van is ready to go into the paint shop, Cox said.
As many as six Animal Services vans eventually could carry the wraparound messages.
