Visiting Pedestrian Dies From Injuries

A woman who was hit by a vehicle in St. Pete Beach Thursday morning has died.

Heather Whalley, and her husband, Seth, were both injured in the 11:23 a.m. accident at 7700 Blind Pass Road.

The North Carolina couple was walking on the sidewalk when the vehicle jumped the curb and hit them from behind, police said. The vehicle ended up hitting a palm tree and rolling onto its side.

Heather Whalley died from her injuries Saturday night. Her husband remains in Bayfront Medical Center in fair condition.

The driver, Aaron Rimar of St. Pete Beach, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Charges are pending the completion of the investigation, police said.
