While Edward Graziano sits in jail awaiting trial on charges he tried to have his wife killed, a bank is foreclosing on his Dunedin home.
The Bank of New York filed the mortgage-foreclosure action last week in Pinellas County Circuit Court.
According to the property appraiser's office, Graziano bought the home at 1225 Curlew Road in 1993 for $144,500.
In February 2007, he took out a loan on the property for $479,750, with an adjustable rate mortage with percentage rates ranging from 10.280 to 17.280, according to court documents. That year, the property's just market value was $274,600.
Graziano's initial monthly payments were $4,179.51. But he stopped making payments as of May 2008, setting the foreclosure in motion. He owes $512,065 on the property, documents state.
If the house sells for less than Graziano owes, he could be held liable for the difference.
Graziano's son, John, was injured in August 2007 while a passenger in a car driven by Nick Bollea, the son of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan.
The guardian for John Graziano is suing Bollea, Hogan, Hogan's ex-wife, Linda Bollea, and Danny Jacobs, who investigators say was racing Nick Bollea at the time of the wreck.
The lawsuit seeks millions of dollars for John Graziano's care.
In February, Edward Graziano was arrested on charges he tried to hire a hit man to kill his then-estranged wife.
According to court documents, Graziano didn't have a job at the time and feared losing his home. He apparently thought that with his wife out of the way, he would stand to receive a greater percentage of any settlement or jury award - or be in control of it.
